A home visit is a family-nurse contact which allows the health worker to assess the home and family situation in order to provide the necessary nursing care and health-related activities. A home visit is one of the essential parts of the community health services because most of the people are found in a home.The four major types of home visits are illness visits, visits to dying patients, home assessment visits and follow-up visits after hospitalization.Home health care is usually less expensive, more convenient, and just as effective as care you get in a hospital or skilled nursing facility .
